Dogs We’re Helping Find Homes (and How You Can Meet Them)

A Small Part of What We Do at Camp Happy Paws

Over the years, Camp Happy Paws has always been about more than just doggie daycare and kennel-free boarding. At the heart of what we do is creating a safe, supportive environment for dogs—and the people who love them.

Recently, we’ve started doing something a little different behind the scenes.

We’ve begun working with Turning Point Dog Ranch & Rescue and MexDogs to help dogs who need a second chance make their way into homes here in our community. These are dogs who didn’t get the easiest start, but who are incredibly deserving of stable, loving homes.

This isn’t a big, formal program or anything like that. It’s something we’re approaching thoughtfully and intentionally—one dog at a time.

Right now, we’d love to introduce you to four of them!

Meet Lucy

Lucy is a young Mexican Street Dog (approximately 1.5–2 years old) with a thoughtful, gentle presence and a quietly affectionate personality.

She’s the kind of dog who really looks at you—making eye contact, taking things in, and waiting to understand what you’re asking of her. Lucy is intelligent and eager to please, and she genuinely enjoys connection and attention once she feels comfortable.

While she can be a little shy in new situations, Lucy approaches the world with a calm curiosity. She’s observant, sensitive, and takes her time, which makes her especially rewarding to build a bond with.

In playgroups, Lucy does well with other dogs and tends to have a soft, respectful interaction style. She’s not overwhelming, but she’s engaged and social in her own way.

Lucy would thrive in a home that appreciates a dog who is both gentle and intuitive—someone who will give her a little time to settle in and then enjoy the incredibly sweet, loyal companion she becomes. She’s a beautiful balance of calm, intelligence, and affection, and she’s ready to find her person.

Meet Toby

Toby is a 7-month-old Mexican Street Dog with a sweet, affectionate nature and a playful puppy spirit.

He absolutely loves people and thrives on connection—he’ll look you right in the eyes, trying to understand what you’re asking, and happily offer kisses along the way. Toby is thoughtful and a little tentative at first, but his desire to engage and be close to his people shines through quickly.

Compared to his brother Milo, Toby can be slightly more sensitive, but he still enjoys playing with other dogs and being part of the group. He wants to participate—he just takes a moment to feel comfortable before fully jumping in.

Toby is very eager to please and already showing how quickly he can learn with a little guidance. Like any young dog, he still has some puppy energy and will benefit from continued structure, training, and outlets for both his mind and body.

He would thrive in a home that’s excited to spend time with him, teach him, and build a bond—because Toby is the kind of dog who will meet you halfway every step of the way.

Meet Venus

Venus is a young Mexican Street Dog (approximately 1.5–2 years old) with a soft, expressive personality and a truly unforgettable look—one blue eye and one brown, both full of curiosity and feeling.

She has so much love to give. While she can be a little shy at first, Venus genuinely enjoys connection and seeks out attention once she feels safe. She’s especially happy around other dogs and thrives in a social environment where she can both play and observe.

Venus is thoughtful and communicative—she’ll let you know when she needs a little space, but she also wants to be part of the fun. She’s learning quickly, eager to please, and does best with a calm, patient approach that gives her time to understand what’s being asked of her.

What really stands out about Venus is her balance and adaptability: she has a playful side, but also a naturally calm energy that allows her to settle, focus, and connect.

Venus would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a sweet, sensitive, and playful young dog—the kind who will blossom beautifully in the right home and form a deeply loyal bond.

Meet Milo

Milo is an energetic and playful seven-month-old, neutered puppy from Mexico City.

Despite spending the early part of his life on the streets, Milo is incredibly adaptable, trusting, and eager to learn. He’s confident, happy, and full of personality—he loves people, loves other dogs, and brings a playful, joyful energy wherever he goes.

Milo is the kind of dog who fully leans into life—whether he’s running with the pack or rolling around being his goofy self. He’s eager to please and will thrive in a home that’s excited to continue his training and give him plenty of activity and engagement.

Milo gets along beautifully with other dogs and loves being part of the group.

If you’re looking for a sweet, social, and fun-loving young dog with a big personality, Milo is the guy for you.

A Little More About What We’re Doing

These dogs are currently staying with us here at camp, where they’re getting the chance to decompress, socialize, and experience a consistent routine.

They’re spending time with our team, learning how to be part of a group, and getting a feel for what life looks like in a home environment. We’re getting to know them as individuals—their personalities, their comfort levels, what they enjoy, and what they might need from a future home.

Our goal is simple: to help place each dog in a home where they’ll be understood, supported, and set up to succeed.

Is One of These Dogs a Fit for You?

Adopting a dog—especially one who is still learning and adjusting—is a meaningful commitment. These guys are wonderful, but like any young dogs, they’ll benefit from continued structure, patience, and guidance as they grow.

If you’re someone who is excited about being part of that process, it can be an incredibly rewarding experience.

If one of these dogs stands out to you, we’d love to hear from you.
